collecting new and gently used children's books for kids in need
Literacy is such an incredible gift - one that most of us take for granted. The ability to read opens wonderful doors of imagination, discovery, and learning.
While kids in middle/upper income neighborhoods have an average of 200 age appropriate books in their homes, the average number of books that kids in low income families have is just two.
Through The Book Drop, we seek to help children in need have access to wonderful stories and adventures through the gift of books.
We receive donated new and gently used children’s books that are then given to organizations working with these children and families in our communities.
As you can see by the drastic statistics, this is a much needed effort that goes a long way towards helping these children and their families. It is best when little ones have the tools (books, in this case) to grow and learn. Having the opportunity to develop reading skills opens doors that could change their future.
